The Paper Saga

Abstract

While undertaking a degree in Publishing, I wrote a children’s story about a hungry butterfly (The Monarch) which raised questions about the environment and the role that we, as humans, play in its preservation and/or destruction. The main objective of undertaking an MA in Printmaking was to explore different methods for printing and binding a book using sustainable methods.

However, environmentally safe paper-making methods are problematic, especially because of the paper production, with no traceability on pulp sources.

My search for the right paper continues.
